The Pool in the City The Campo Grande Apartment, located next to the University of Lisbon garden and Colégio Moderno, is situated in one of the greenest and most historic areas of the city, marked by the old Campo Grande mansions and centuries-old trees planted at the end of the 18th century. This central and peaceful area, highly valued for family and student housing, benefits from excellent access, cultural facilities, and proximity to the university campus.

The concept is to create a true “vacation home within the city.” The patio became the main feature of the project: a monochromatic, white, abstract space, which, with natural light from the southwest, reflects off the pool and projects into the interior of the home. The visual presence of the large trees in the surrounding gardens reinforces this atmosphere, making nature seem to enter the courtyard and creating a rare urban refuge in the center of Lisbon.

The entire interior renovation was carried out from this contemporary courtyard, transforming the apartment into a fully refurbished two-bedroom apartment, with complete renovation of the infrastructure and finishes. The construction project, carried out by CVZ, favors materials such as varnished pine flooring and Estremoz marble in wet areas, keeping walls and woodwork neutral to enhance light and materiality. The result is a small apartment that makes the most of its space, reborn in the heart of the city with a new way of living, exuding the serenity of a vacation home while preserving the landscape memory of the historic Campo Grande.
