The project and work “Apartment in Artilharia 1,” a total renovation, transformed a former 202 m² office into a four-bedroom apartment, responding to the premise of the Lisbon housing market. Located in a central and privileged area, the project aimed to increase property value through signature architecture, adapting the space to modern standards of comfort and functionality without losing the historical value of the surrounding architecture. The central concept of architect Bruno Câmara, and the total renovation work carried out by CVZ - construções, is summed up in his quote: “Architecture is light and nobility lies in the materials.”

In order to achieve this, the renovation emphasized natural light and the spaciousness of the apartment, which benefits from three facades and different solar orientations. By demolishing walls and opening up a new light source on an enclosed balcony, larger spaces were created, such as the large social area with an open kitchen leading to the living room. The aesthetic follows a minimalist line and is free of ornamentation. The materiality and unity between the spaces, from the most social to the most private (four bedrooms, three of which are master suites), are defined by noble materials: marble stone (in the kitchen and bathrooms) and solid wood (creating the connection between the spaces). Natural lighting is complemented by indirect artificial light in continuous planes (light moldings), ensuring harmony and lightness, and reinforcing the idea of a new and comfortable way of living in the city center.
